“You know that you’re the only women on the planet that would be ok with my wife,” Urban told DeGeneres on the show after the spoof plays. The singer is married to actress Nicole Kidman.

And this is great news. A new sitcom is coming that might actually be …dare I say it…FUNNY.

…It was also announced on Thursday that DeGeneres and her “Ellen” writer Alex Herschlag have teamed up to create a comedy. DeGeneres will executive produce the project series called “Weitz & Wong,” about a mixed race Jewish-Chinese couple and their children, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.

Katy says she in the process of legally changing her last name, which is really no big deal because Perry isn’t her real last name anyway. Her maiden name is Hudson but she changed it to her mother maiden name to avoid being confused with actress Kate Hudson.

Katy told Ellen that people are already called her Brand anyway..so why not do it.  “Sometimes when people try to get my attention. Like if I’m at an event or something like that and they want special attention. They go, “Mrs. Brand!” and I go shwoosh [looking back].”

On why she’s speaking out against bullying:

“Well, I just feel it would be incredible remiss of me to not say something. I’m incredibly disturbed and saddened by the overwhelming number of teen suicides that have been reported lately because of bullying. Suicide in general is disturbing. Teenagers committing suicide is extremely disturbing but to hear that teenagers are taking their lives because they are being bullied in schools and dormitories, what have you, is kind of unfathomable. I know a number of people have spoken out about it but I feel like I need to say something. The gay community has been incredibly supportive of me. I wouldn’t have a career if it weren’t for the gay community…I have a teenage daughter and I have ongoing discussions with her about this topic so I feel like I need to say a few words…”

On how out of control the situation is :

“The concept that we are torturing teenagers because they are gay. It’s kind of like I said earlier. It’s unfathomable. It’s like lynching black people or Hitler exterminating Jews. Sorry if I’m going on a rampage right now but this is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave.”

On how we should all mind our own business:

“I think it would be interesting for everybody to try one simple experiment. If you want to talk about solutions or how can we solve this problem? Try to get through the day each and everyone of us…without gossiping about somebody. Without gossiping about anybody. And not only that. Not even listening to gossip. Walking away from it. Can you imagine what your day would be like? How much more free time you’d have? I also feel like you’d feel about better about yourself.

**I totally agree. Don’t gossip about the real people in your life. But celebrities don’t count, so reading my blog is perfectly ok.

So with Ellen not returning for the 10th season, there are now two vacancies on its judging panel. Fox has yet to announce a replacement for Simon Cowell, although names like Brett Michaels, Chris Isaack, Jessica Simpson and Courtney Love are being thrown around.

Let’s hope Fox takes this opportunity to revamp the judges panel ….for the better this time.

I vote for Courtney Love and Brett Michaels. They would totally offset all the “dawgs” coming from the other end of the table.

Color me shocked. I didn’t see this one coming. Even after Ellen’s guest judge appearance on So You Think You Can Dance. I should have known there was something up..she was totally chatting up Nigel.

Fox announced Wednesday the talk show host and comedian, who admittedly has no formal music experience other than a passion for tunes, would join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the ninth season starting in January.

The announcement all but seals the departure of Paula Abdul, who announced she was quitting the show amid a contract dispute in July.

DeGeneres told her talk show audience in an episode scheduled to air Thursday that she would not abandon her Emmy-winning chatfest, but would have “a day job and a night job. The times we’re living in,” she quipped, “we’re all doing that.”

“Hopefully, I’m the people’s point of view because I’m just like you,” DeGeneres said on her show. “I sit at home and I watch it, and I don’t have that technical … I’m not looking at it in a critical way from the producer’s mind. I’m looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person.”

On yesterday’s show, Diddy and Ellen were having a funny convo about his recent tantric Twitter posts when Ellen decided to call him out on letting the abusive Chris Brown stay at his house after he beat Rihanna.

“You gave your house to Chris Brown and Rihanna. You know a lot of people would say, why would you do this?” Ellen asked.

D tried to bring the conversation back to Twitter but E wasn’t letting him off the hook. “I don’t want any girl thinking its OK to go back to a guy who hit her,” she said.

Diddy finally answered, “I don’t cast a judgment on anybody. We don’t know exactly what’s going on. We need to pray for them and support them. Let us pray. I don’t think it’s right for anybody to hit anybody. We know sometimes relationships get ugly … we don’t know exactly what’s going on.”

Portia looked gorgeous in a backless pink tu-tu-ish dress and Ellen was very dapper in her signature feminine but masculine white pants, shirt and vest.

The intimate ceremony was attended by 20 of their closest family and friends and their two dogs. Congrats you two! My prediction is this one of the few Hollywood marriages that won’t end in divorce. Eat your heart out Anne Heche!
