As I knew it would, the Corey Haim story is getting sadder and sadder. Not only did he have eight film projects in the works, he had a girlfriend. After being introduced by  Corey Feldman, Haim started dating Daisy de la Hoya, the star of VH1′s reality show Daisy of Love.

“I’m sooooooo devastated right now,” de la Hoya tweeted this morning. “This is the worst day ever I can’t believe this.”

The romance between the two was very new. “Daisy loved The Lost Boys, and she always had a crush on Corey,” a source close to De la Hoya tells us. “Their first official date was two weeks ago, but they’d been hanging out a little while before that. Corey invited her to the Playboy Mansion. Corey Feldman came, too.”

De la Hoya apparently wanted to help Haim with his struggles. “Daisy knew Corey was doing a lot of drugs—especially prescription meds,” our source says. “She thought he was kind and talented, and she wanted to rescue him. She became his confidant over the last few weeks. He told her a lot.”

Wow. Talk about fate trying to step and save your ass. TMZ reports that Corey Haim was offered a spot on Celebrity Rehab just last week but he turned them down.

Sources connected with Dr. Drew’s show tell us casting producers called Corey. They say he was “extremely defensive and insulted, saying, ‘It’s the last show I’d ever do.’”
Our sources say the 3-minute conversation ended with Corey saying, “I do not need help.”

All the reports say that only prescription drugs were found in his home, so I suppose he was living in that ‘they are from a doctor so they are ok’ world.  Chances are he would have died anyway, even if he had accepted VH1′s offer. I read earlier today that he was recovering from the flu, just like Brittany Murphy when he died.

The Two Corey’s are no more. Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent drug overdose…possible accidental. Either way it sucks. I was really rooting for this guy. He was 38 years old.

I grew up with The Coreys so this news is pretty sad for me. When will the madness stop? Not that CH was some brilliant artist that could have changed the world..but damn….its so freakin senseless.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph’s hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4AM PT to investigate. Haim shot to fame in the 80s — when he co-starred in a number of films, including “The Lost Boys,” with Corey Feldman. Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center.

Spoiler Alert for those of you that have been following the A&E reality show The Two Coreys. Ok, you’ve been warned. 

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, the show is about the reunion of 80′s teen superstars Corey Feldman and Corey Haim and their millions pounds of baggage. Feldman seems to be doing ok and making his way in Hollywood, whereas Haim has been a drug addict for the past ten years and decided to come back to L.A. to make ammends and revive his acting career. The episode that will air this Sunday night chronicles some interesting events as the two were on set to film a scene for The Lost Boys 2, that leave some of us wondering if Haim is still using drugs.

To add fuel to the video clip fire, Feldman wrote this on his blog earlier this week;

“Episode 5 is definitely one of the two most intense episodes of the new season (and you thought 1, and 2, were shocking?) and quite honestly one of the most truthful, revealing, and uncomfortable episodes of any show in the history of this format.   I am writing this as a very serious and very strong precaution to certain viewers who are weak hearted. If you are a long time fan/defender of Haim this will be extremely difficult to sit through, but it is a very important show. After you have seen this episode you will have such a better picture of what Susie and I have been secretly dealing with, on and off, for many years now.”
