his is an odd match up. Last season’s Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano is teaming up with Moody Mommas to designs a line of fierce maternity clothing. The line already has a big celebrity fan base, Tori Spelling and Jessica Alba have been seen rockin’ their clothes while preggo.

The line is called “Fierce Mamas for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano” and hopefully it won’t make you look like a pregnant hot-tranny-mess. The line will be available for pre-order at Belly Dance Maternity in New York on November 8th and in Chicago on November 15th. Too pregnant to fly to New York? While I agree that this would be a great Christmas present for the pregnant fashionista in your life, I fear sweet Christian may not completly understand the girth of a pregnant women’s ass.

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano is trying to stretch his fifteen minutes out as long as he can. PR devotees will be all over his guest role on ABC’s Ugly Betty on May 1.

The plot: Mode magazine is trying to convince Christian to work with them for a fashion spread instead of their competitors. So the designer shows up for a meeting with an entourage of models wearing his designs and Runway judge Nina Garcia, who also plays herself on the episode. In addition to the outfits he designed for his model pals, the Runway winner also whipped up a look for Becki Newton (Amanda) — who happens to be a huge Christian fan.

The wunderkind designer says the experience was “fierce!” Natch.

So, who was the fiercest cast member of them all? “Ooooh, they’re as fierce and ferocious as they can be,” raves Siriano. “Vanessa Williams is the queen of fierceness and Becki Newton is the princess … I’m inviting them all to my Spring 2008-09 collection — it’ll be a great front row!”

Who’s idea was it was it to hire Christian Siriano to work the red carpet at the Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kid Choice Awards? Make no mistake, we think girlfriend is beyond fierce, maybe a bit too fierce for kids. The good folks at Access Hollywood have faith in the young designer to keep it clean and have hired the Project Runway winner as their fashion correspondent for the event.

“I think it’s fabulous that I’ll be on the red carpet checking to see if anyone is a hot tranny mess,” says the fashionista, using some of his choice language from Runway. And celebs, be forewarned, he’s got a word of advice for you: “Watch out – you know I’ll be fierce with my comments.”

On second thought it could be a genious move. Having the designer wunderkind on the runway may well lead to childless folks tuning in to see the fierce-ness.
