I love Channing Tatum more and more every day. I missed him on Saturday Night Live this week, but I just watched his intro mocking his stripper days before he was famous and I thought I would share to cheer up my brothers and sistas on this gloomy Monday.

Eye candy Friday. I should start doing this every week.

I totally would if these sort of pictures were available every week. I don’t know what’s happening to me, but I seem to be developing a huge crush on the very square-jawed and untattooed Channing Tatum. Not the type of guy I usually go for…but how you can deny those abs?????

Channing and his other hot co-stars are doing promo work for the buddy/stripper flick Magic Mike so hopefully we’ll see lots more of this in the coming weeks.

I try not to like Channing Tatum. I try to remember he’s not such a great actor. I try to remember that I don’t like big, buff, square jaw guys. But damn it, every time I see a new pictorial of him, read an interview or God forbid see him on tv…I get all swooney. He comes off as this big sweet guy that really appreciates his life.

For a new profile in Details magazine, Tatum got the reporter drunk and took him shooting at a gun range, helped a woman take care of her car on the side of the road, and taught his dog to do a Dirty Dancing trick.

But the interview’s most interesting revelation is that the 31-year-old stripper-turned-actor is completely understanding of the fact that people don’t consider his acting abilities to be his greatest strength. And that’s why he’s taken the roles he has — to help himself become a better actor.

“I wanted to learn from Rachel (McAdams) on The Vow. I wanted to learn from Lasse Hallstrom on Dear John — he did The Cider House Rules and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” Tatum says. “I didn’t go to acting school, so my knowledge of story, filmmaking and character comes from just being on set and doing it. I know I’m not the best actor. But I hope my characters are getting better.

So the new IT boy Channing Tatum  (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) wasn’t always so cool. He was once a cheesy Chippendale dude.

Then 18, the star — who performed under the alias “Chan Crawford” — approached the troupe’s owner London Steele at a now-defunct Florida nightclub about a job.
“He was shy at first, but he really knew how to work the stage,” Steele tells Us, adding that Tatum lip-synched in the act and earned $50 a night (plus tips) during his year-long stint.

“The women went crazy for him!” Steele added. The actor — who wed his Step Up costar Jenna Dewan on July 11 — was so impressive he caught the eye of a female casting agent who put him in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” music video.
