As much as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes would like to pretend that Suri is not from this world…she has proved today that she is an actual living breathing non-alien five year old kid.

Five-year-old Suri Cruise – and her golden high heeled shoes – threw a major temper tantrum yesterday at FAO Schwarz in New York City. We spotted the tot red faced and crying – even shouting at Katie Holmes – in the middle of the store. Certainly FAO Schwarz is the location of many childhood breakdowns. Most kids who go in there probably aren’t going to leave with the toys they wanted. Scenes ensue. Of course it’s generally agreed that parents shouldn’t give in to temper tantrums – but not surprisingly, Suri was pacified with a lollipop and toys. A good lesson learned!

I’m not one to judge another chicks parenting style..we all do things our own way. Kids are all different and need different things. I may have been the only person in the world that it didn’t think it was awful that Suri Cruise is still allowed to have a paci. I mean really..if you had cameras in your face all day and got dragged all over the globe at all hours you’d need something to suck on too.

But I draw the line at letting your kids have genital shaped candy. That’s just…eww.

I’m gonna give Katie Holmes the benefit and say that maybe she was distracted having a grown up convo and didn’t even realize what Suri had in her hands. Anyone with kids has been in that situation.

In fact, there is a famous story in my family that involves a toddler, a stinky diaper, a spoon full of stinky diaper and an adult that wasn’t paying attention and reached out and grabbed said spoon. So really..compared to that..are the penis gummies that bad?

But for some reason, it’s a big deal that she has a $800 iPad? Even most regular people I know (myself included) let their kids pound on their iPhones and iPads at restaurants and/or other situations just to keep them quiet for five minutes.

The eyewitness tells Life & Style Suri put her stuffed animals aside to use a drawing program on the expensive piece of equipment while Tom and Katie carried on a conversation with dining partners. She played with the iPad for about 20 minutes before the family headed out of the restaurant just before midnight.

Flash forward two years, and tons of photos of Suri being a spoiled princess and we see her pushing four years old still sucking on a bottle. This photo was taken last Friday in NYC where Katie Holmes is shooting her new thriller Son of No One.

Granted…Suri travels alot and has paps in her face on the reg and maybe the comfort of the bottle keeps her from being a screamer. But still…

One expert told Us that it’s imperative that Tom and Katie get Suri off the bottle at this point.

“By the time kids are nine-months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw,” said Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of Food Fights. “That development comes pretty early.”

Shu told Us she didn’t “know why” Cruise and Holmes still allowed their daughter to drink from one. “You don’t force kids to crawl when they can walk,” Shu told Us.

Right. Except that  Tom didn’t run over to ToysRUs and pick up a $149.99 battery operated Barbie car for his kid. He bought her a $30,000 replica Indy race car to drive around in those gold high heels.

The Top Gun star reportedly splashed out $30,000 on a custom-made miniature replica of an Indy race car.

“Suri has been mesmerized by auto racing n TV so he thought it would be fun for her to have her own little car to ride in. If Suri truly takes to the sport, Tom plans on having a little race track installed at his L.A. property. But for now she’ll just be going up and down the family’s long driveway.”

But Dr. Harvey Karp — a pediatrician, child development specialist and creator of the DVD and book, The Happiest Toddler On The Block – doesn’t think it’s such a big deal. “Sucking is normal for kids when they are tired or bored — as long as kids aren’t keeping the bottle in their mouths for hours” he tells Us, adding that it may serve as an emotional security device. “Thumb-sucking is more damaging.”

I actually agree with Dr.Karp…it’s not like you don’t 3 year-old’s still using pacifiers. What’s the dif? There’s a certain stigma attached to a kid using a bottle too long.  And they are either hiding the fact that she’s still on the B (we never see pics of her sucking on her wheatgrass anymore) or she is really only using for a comfy. A small piece of calm in her crazy, celebrity baby life. I’ll tell you the real reason you can’t let a 2-3 year-old have a bottle..they chew through the damn nipples at an alarming rate!

It’s either that or go with the theory that they did it in her sleep or drugged her because there is no way you could get a terrible two year old to sit still long enough to get the chemicals on.

It seems like ages since we’ve seen Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ darling daughter Suri out with her parents – sixty-one days, to be exact!  The cutie’s been missing in action since January 16th, when Katie and Tom were putting in work promoting Mad Money.  Since then – nada!

Where is she? What have they done with her? Isn’t she too young for programming? Maybe she is getting a Scientology toddler make-over. Or maybe mommy and daddy only use her when they need her to promote their projects. Either way, it’s frightening.

We aren’t ones to knit-pick, but these photos do raise a few questions here at HWB. When did Katie get so much cleavage? And couldn’t she have found some cuter shoes for Suri?
