I was just having a conversation with someone the other day about just how legendary Stone Temple Pilots could have been if not for Scott Weiland’s raging drug addiction. They were a solid, old-school rock band with a rock-star-god lead singer. They could have ruled the world. Things like this just break my heart.

Sigh. Anyway…then this story popped up today and I thought, ‘what a co-winky-dink!’ I was just thinking about bad this dude f***ed it up for everyone.

Weiland is doing interviews in advance of the first Stone Temple Pilots album in nine years. Although fans had mixed reactions to their last studio album, ‘Shangri-La Dee Da,’ Weiland promises their new music is a straight-up rock record more in touch with hits ‘Core’ and ‘No. 4. Weiland opens up about Christmas caroling in prison, rumors of a feud with Guns N’ Roses and receiving a massage while his wife was in labor in a Details magazine interview.

Weiland didn’t think having a massage during his ex-wife Mary Forsberg’s labor was out of line. “What do you mean? I was incredibly stressed-out,” Weiland rationalized. “She was having contractions and that was tripping me out, so I called up our friend and she gave me a massage. I laid out right next to where Mary was.” The incident was revealed in Forsberg’s memoir of their tumultuous relationship together. ‘Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Mental Illness’ was published last year. No one I’ve ever talked to thought [the massage] was weird,” revealed Weiland. “It’s incredibly stressful when the person you love is having a child. And I was sober at that time, so I needed something to take the edge off.”

Then you were talking to idiots. No wonder these two aren’t together anymore. I think I would have been filing for divorce before I left the hospital if the father of my baby was that selfish.

We all know that Stone Temple Pilot frontman Scott Weiland has been battling addiction problems for years. But did you know that his model-wife Mary Forsberg Weiland was right down in the gutter with him? In her new memoir, “Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Mental Illness” Mary says they were both so addicted to heroin that they showed up to a Fourth of July party at Leonardo DiCaprio house wearing long sleeves – to hide the track marks.

Mary first met Scott when he was hired by her agency to ferry her to and from modeling gigs for $8 an hour. The couple, now separated, had a tumultuous relationship to say the least.

* On setting fire to Scott’s designer clothes after an argument in March of 2007 — which led to Mary’s diagnosis of bipolar disorder: “The bonfire was huge and very pretty. Everything went up in smoke quickly, except the shoe leather; the Guccis took the longest,” she writes. “The news reports said I’d torched $10,000 worth of Scott’s clothes, which was wrong by a factor of eight. He was somewhat insulted at their estimate: ‘Eighty thousand dollars, Mary,’ he said later.”

* On doing heroin with Scott: “Scott would bring me a framed Neil Zlozower photograph of Keith Richards; I’d lay out the goods right on top of Keith.”

* On attending a party at the Playboy Mansion with Scott: “I had no clue till much later that Scott’s time in the bathroom was spent with a crack pipe in his mouth.”

* On being asked out by Pauly Shore when she was a 16-year-old model: “I managed to get so drunk at the Roxbury that when Pauly suggested it was time to call it a night, I couldn’t tell him where I lived. Did not have a purse; did not have any money . . . Mr. Shore then proved himself to be a complete gentleman (I think this may come as a shock to some people). He took me to his house, settled me into a room by myself, set the clock, and made me take an aspirin and drink a lot of water.”

The book goes on sale Nov. 10.

Scott Weiland gets clean, starts making good music again and then his wife goes nuts. Just hours after Scott and wife Mary Weiland trashed a room at a nearby luxury hotel, Mary was taken into custody after allegedly burning Scott’s clothes in a trash can at their home. It was a costly couple of hours for the Weilands. The hotel damage came to $400 and the burnt rock star clothing was worth a whopping $10,000!!!!

This story would be funny if it didn’t end with the couple’s children being placed in the custody of family friends.
