According To Prince The Internet Is Un-Hip

Posted on: July 6, 2010 | Comments Off

No one has heard hide nor hare out of The Purple One in a couple of years, but today this quote popped up from Prince and it made me smile. Yeah, he’s pretty much dissing my livelihood but you gotta admit he’s always been ahead of his time. At least he was 200-odd years ago.

“The internet’s completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it. The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated.

Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can’t be good for you.”

Prince is probably one of the few celebrities people in the world who don’t know how to check his own email. What does he want his fans to do? If he won’t sell his music through iTunes or some online outlet does he still want his fans toting around bulky CD’s?

Prince Disses Paris Hilton

Posted on: April 30, 2007 | 2 Comments

One more reason to love Prince. The artist formerly known as a symbol humiliated Paris Hilton by mocking her singing ability.

Paris was in the audience at Prince’s concert at Club 3121 in Las Vegas on April 20th (probably looking at her wonk-eyed self in her mirror a’la her performance at the Jay-Z concert) when the Purple One invited Paris to join him onstage. Paris happily bounced onto the stage as cool ass Prince handed her a microphone and said, “Let’s see if she can really sing.”

Club goers say an embarrassed and angry Paris stormed offstage and left the club two songs later. Did she think no one was ever going to call her out on that lame, over produced song?

Prince’s Half-Time Imagery Questioned

Posted on: February 7, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Janet Jackson has set a Super Bowl scandal standard that is hard to follow. After two years of ‘safe’ half-time performers, the powers that be gave us Prince Rogers Nelson; and he stepped up and gave us a huge guitar phallic symbol to chew on for a while.

Prince’s kick-ass performance included a gorgeous guitar solo during the “Purple Rain” segment of his medley in which his shadow was projected onto a large, flowing sheet. Some say the shadow cast by his figure and his guitar (that was shaped like his symbol) had intentional phallic connotations.

The people have spoken, and the people want some drama! Did any of you kids notice this while watching? Am I the only one whose mind is not in the gutter?
