Padma Lakshmi did a great job keeping her private life private over the past 9 months. No one knew who the lucky dude was that knocked up the Top Chef host. In a time when celebrities use a pregnancy to further their career, it was refreshing to see someone keep such a special thing to themselves.

Until today. Adam Dell just couldn’t stand it anymore. He wants the world to know that he is Padma’s baby-daddy.

Little Krishna Thea Lakshmi — the baby Padma Lakshmi gave birth to on Saturday — is going to grow up with a dad in her life. Page Six has learned from a friend of Adam Dell that Dell is delighted to be the father to Krishna. The stunning “Top Chef” host has never identified the father, but Dell’s friend said he’s happy to as sume paternal responsibility and is looking forward to spending time with his daugh ter. Adam, the younger brother of computer maker Michael Dell, did not return our calls.

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and husband/author Salman Rushdie are getting divorced. Although no reason for the split has been given, the “Satanic Verses” author did release a statement saying that he has “agreed to divorce his wife because of her desire to end their marriage.”

Padma, a 37 years old former model married the 60 year old writer in 2004. The couple had no children and one more juicy bit of info for you is that this is Rushdie’s fourth divorce. I guess it’s hard to have a successful marriage when the entire Muslim world wants to kill you. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about go right now and Google Salman Rushie and Ayatollah Khomeini.)
