Jay-Z and Beyonce have chosen Oprah Winfrey as their baby girl Blue Ivy’s godmother. Most people thought it was going to be Beyonce’s sister or Gwyneth Paltrow. A source reported that they wanted to go outside their immediate family for Blue’s godparents and really…if you going to do the godparent thing…you really can’t pick one better than The Oprah.

The music power couple chose Winfrey for the role because they did not want to select a blood relative, a source told the gossip website Media Take Out. Jay-Z’s best friend and road manager, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, was asked to be the child’s godfather, the gossip site reported. The cable network CEO has been a close friend to the pair and reportedly sent baby Blue a trunk full of books after her birth.

We first saw this picture of Oprah Winfrey wearing flips with what looks suspiciously like a sixth toe, back in 2007 at the Howard University graduation. Flash forward three years later and most people don’t even know about O’s extra toe.

But then over the weekend the story and pictured resurfaced along with the rumor that she was going to be having it surgically removed soon.

What can I tell you? The celebrity gossip world is a strange and sometimes disturbing place.

Oprha Winfrey, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning and Taylor Lautner all on one stage…I’m surprised the room didn’t just explode from the sheer anticipation of it all. Oprah and the chosen ones talked about everything from Twi-hards, to Kristen’s awkwardness to the relationship rumors and Rob’s childhood dreams of being a rapper. Funny, right?

I hear the pregnancy rumor / joke was explained as well.

PS…how did Dakota Fanning get the approval to be on stage at the same time as the magical threesome? I bet Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone were watching with hate filled vampire eyes today.

But the white boy panicked and  abandoned Winfrey in the middle of the night after caving to “social pressures” on interracial couples, which injected tension into their relationship, Kelley has claimed.

“He said one night he looked down and saw his white body next to her black body and couldn’t take it anymore,” a Tesh ex reportedly told Kelley. He walked out in the middle of the night… He told me he later felt very guilty about it.”

The highly anticipated biography, which is due out on Tuesday, also includes the claim that Oprah’s mother, Vernita, has to call the mogul’s personal assistant and leave a message before speaking with her daughter.

“I’m mad at myself,” writes Winfrey, 54. “I’m embarrassed. I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again?’”

Apparently Oprah’s been dealing with a thyroid condition that has caused her develop ‘a fear of working out’. I’m not sure what a thyroid problem has to do with working out or the fear thereof…but she IS Oprah so she must know what she’s talkin’ about. Right?

Oprah says her weight gain really hit home when she was freaking out about having to appear on stage with Cher and Tina Turner earlier this year. Because she felt like “a fat cow. I wanted to disappear.”

*Sigh* I do not like to make fun of women for gaining weight and I hate to hear them beating themselves up about it. Normally. But Oprah knows better. And Oprah has a chef..a trainer…food delivery…and she can certainly afford the therapy she so desperately needs to figure out why a woman who has EVERY-FREAKIN-THING in the world continues to hurt herself with food.

Number two on the list is a bit of a shocker; musician Herb Alpert gave $13 million to various charities last year including his own music foundation. I had no idea that the 73 trumpet player had that much paper. Good for him.

Number three was Barbra Streisand at $11 million, Fourth place was Paul Newman at $10 million and Fifth place goes to Mel Gibson with a total donation of $9.9 million. Brad and Angie come in at sixth place for giving away $8.4 million to their foundation that funds reconstruction in New Orleans and well as their donations to refugee aid.

Kudo’s to all above! Thanks for putting out all that good Karma in the world and keeping the universe balanced. But shame shame shame on the following celebs who, as the saying goes, “Have more money that God”, but only donated a miniscule amount of their annual income to help the world’s less fortunate.

Jerry Seinfeld $3 million; Hugh Hefner $2 million; Tiger Woods $1.3 million and Steven Spielberg at $1 million.

In true Oprah-stye, she is going to be blogging about her progresses and her comfort food withdrawals. And take it from a blog who knows, you do have food withdrawals when you do this 21-day detox. (We did Dax Moy’s detox and although we told everyone we completed it, we gave in and had added Red Bull back in on about day three.)

“This 21-day cleanse gives me a chance to think about [eating] differently and see what my attachments are to certain kinds of foods – and what I’m willing to do to change,” she wrote on Sunday (day one). “Don’t know if I’m going to feel better or worse, but I’m willing to try to see if my body at least feels differently.”

So far, Oprah says she is enjoying her detox, but keep in mind she has a high-priced personal chef cooking her yummy vegan things like ‘strawberry rhubarb wheat-free crepes”. On our 21-day detox plan we mostly ate oatmeal and chicken. Oprah sucks.
