This is one of those times I wished I had paid attention when I was learning to photo shop. I really wanted to color NPH face blue for this story..but oh well.

Neil Patrick Harris is the first actor to be attached to the upcoming Smurfs: The Movie from Sony Pictures. The Raja Gosnell-directed film is a mix of live action and animation and NPH will play the lead live action character. I have no idea if he’s been cast as a Smurf or possibly Gargamel. I hope, I hope, I hope he is Brainy Smurf. It’s only fair that a gay man play a gay Smurf.

Filming begins in April, while he is on break from filming How I Met Your Mother.

I am suprised but not shocked to learn that Neil Patrick Harris has come out of the closet. I think the sniffing ecstasty off a strippers butt scene from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle clouded my judgement on this one. He also plays such a convincing womanizing jerk on How I Met Your Mother that he slipped under everyone’s radar. But Kudo’s to the Doog for being true.
