Matthew McConaughey Talks About His TrailerPosted on: October 13, 2008
Matthew McConaughey’s love for trailer life is one that has confused most of us for quite some time. Why live in a cramped up little trailer when you can stretch out in luxury in your Malibu beach home? The good folks at Architectural Digest went outside their box to do a story on Matty and his beloved Airstream for next month’s issue. Matt has crossed the country several times in his silver bullet lookin’ house and regulary uses on movie sets in leiu of a set trailer. McMatthew says purchasing the trailer in 2004 was one of the best things he’s ever done..it’s certainly paid for itself threefold by now. “It’s a beautiful piece of art and aerodynamically very functional.” McConaughey has dubbed the trailer The Canoe – a name inspired by a gift he was given by a Squamish Indian elder in Vancouver, Canada, following a short stay on the tribe’s reservation. He explains, “When I left, they brought me a handcrafted oar that’s one of the symbols of the tribe. The oar guides the canoe, guides you through life.” Since buying the Airstream, McConaughey has added a satellite dish and a barbecue area. He is currently customising two other Airstream trailers, joking, “One day I’ll have either an Airstream hotel or an Airstream compound.” Meanwhile, baby Levi and Matt’s baby momma are kickin’ it comfortable in the Malibu mansion wondering when daddy is coming home. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey To Remake “Foul Play”Posted on: July 3, 2008
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey have become this generations Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. Or something like it. They’ve starred together in two romantic comedies already, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Fool’s Gold, and they are now working on their third. Although it’s in the early stages, Kate has confirmed that she and Matty are planning to star in a remake of her mother’s 1978 comedy Foul Play. In the original flick Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase star as a ‘shy librarian and a bumbling cop that fall in love and sold cases involving albinos, dwarves and the Catholic Church.’ After reading that, I think I’m more excited to head over to Blockbuster to get the original than I am to see Kate and Matt reprise those roles. While I can totally see Kate as a shy librarian, not sure I buy Matt as a bumbling cop. Unless they have him shirtless in a few scenes, in that case I’m totally in. Share This:
