This might be the most popular Super Bowl commercial this year. At least in my humble opinion. Of course I haven’t seen any other of the big money ads, but really…what could be better than a Ferris Bueller update? Um..nothing! There are over 24 references to the original cult classic…see how many you can spot.

To celebrate the launch of the all-new 2012 CR-V, Honda brought Ferris Bueller’s Day Off back in a big game commercial. We cast Matthew Broderick as himself, skipping out on a day of acting work and living it up in his all-new CR-V. By far my favorite Oscar moment of the night. Most of my teenage hero’s and heroines gather all on one stage to honor the great John Hughes.

While Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner sat in the audience looking bored as hell, Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Anthony Michael Hall, Ma caulay Culkin, Jon Cryer, Ally Sheedy and Judd Nelson stood together at the Oscars and each told a Hughes anecdote.You can’t blame the Twilight teens though..they probably don’t even know who The Donger is.

John Hughes made great movies that touched a generation. He had a way of making the awkwardness of being a teenager somehow seem normal.

The Brat Pack tribute was touching and respectful.

Ferris Bueller Glass House Up For Sale

The glass walled tree house that Ferris Bueller and his sidekick Cameron drove a vintage Ferrari through is up for sale. You can own a piece of pop culture history for the bargain price of only $2.9 Million.

The house, listed by Chicago estate agents Sudler Sotheby’s Realty, is on the market for $US2.3 million ($2.9 million).

It includes the spectacular glass pavilion famously wrecked in the scene where Bueller (played by Matthew Broderick), drives a vintage red Ferrari into a ravine while trying to wind back kilometres on the vehicle.

It also boasts incredible views of the surrounding woods, four bedrooms, the famous pavilion, and is located in the exclusive Highland Park area of Illinois, in the US.

Mary-Kate Olsen must be giddy with relief after finding out she will not have to answer questions in the Heath Ledger death investigation. So much so that she forgot to block ‘non-friends’ from viewing pictures of some rowdy partying pictures on her Facebook page.

The star is shown in an album of photos partying hard with pals after failing to block users she has yet to befriend on her Facebook.com profile page. According to the New York Daily News, the actress has created a profile under the name Katie Olsen – and the profile is open to anyone in her New York-listed network.

Hopefully they’ll pop up online for the rest of us today. In the meantime check out these oldie but goodie flannel party pictures.
