Kiefer Sutherland’s faith in Tom Brady and the New England Patriots resulted in him wearing a green dress and combat boots on the David Letterman show last night. The “24″ star told Dave that he lost a bet that New England would beat Baltimore over the weekend.

Dave’s first comment, when he stopped laughing, was, “You doing a remake of Beverly Hillbillies? You’re Granny?” He followed up with an offer, “If you get on the subway like that, I’ll give you $1,000.”

Kiefer responded, “Riding the subway would be easier than what I’m going through right now. This I think might be the most humiliating moment of life, and I’ve had a few to choose from.”

Kiefer has been arrested for DUI,  he’s been filmed drunk on numerous occasions and then there’s this video where he bounces off a Christmas tree.

When this story first broke this morning it sounded like Kiefer Sutherland was the hero of the night at the Met costume gala in NY last night. But as the morning wears on more details are coming in and something seems fishy.

Kiefer’s camp says he headbutted and broke designer Jack McCollough’s nose because he “attacked” his pal Brooke Shields. He was simply defending her honor. But Brooke’s camp says that Jack did nothing to warrant such violence. But they  did not say that he did not touch her. Was Kiefer really defending Brooke’s husband here? What’s going on?

I know Kiefer be crazy and drunk alot…but do you think he would attack a random designer for no reason at all?

As we reported, witnesses say Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough knocked Brooke to the ground at an after-party for the Met costume gala in NYC last night. But Brooke’s rep say “nothing happened to her,” adding “Jack did nothing inappropriate. It’s not clear what caused Keifer to do what he did.”
Witnesses say Kiefer went up to Jack and demanded he apologize to Brooke. Jack allegedly pushed Kiefer and Kiefer then headbutted Jack.But Brooke’s reps tell us Jack, who designs clothes for Brooke, “did absolutely nothing to her.”

Kiefer Sutherland pled guilty Tuesday afternoon on his recent DUI charge. The sentence recommendations are complicated but basically Kiefer will do 48 days in custody. The first 18 days for probation violation which he will surrender for December 21 of this year. Then Kiefer will serve an additional 30 days for the current DUI charge and must complete that sentence by July 1, 2008.

If you are worried about KSuth’s job as Jack Baur, don’t.  A rep for Twentieth Century Fox and the FOX Broadcasting Group issued this statement:

“Today our friend Kiefer Sutherland resolved his criminal case at the earliest opportunity. Kiefer made clear to us at the time of his arrest that his first concern was the welfare of those he worked with and that he intended to do whatever was necessary to prevent shutting down the show because of his situation. He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so. From what occurred today, it is evident he is a man of his word. We wish him well and look forward to a long relationship with him.”
