My regular readers know that I am not a Katherine Heigl fan and other than Knocked Up, I don’t think I’ve seen a single one of her crappy chick-flicks. Even Gerard Butlers hotness couldn’t get me to the theater to see The Ugly Truth.

But since it’s a known fact that I’d trip my grandma to get to a Josh Duhamel movie I’m sure I’ll be seeing this one on some future girls night out.

I think I might not have such strong dislike for Katherine Heigl anymore. The ice queen got choked up last night on The Tonight Show when talking about her brother dying in a car accident.

After talking about daughter Naleigh and becoming a mother herself, Heigl described how, until she became a mom, she never understood how horrible it was for her own mother to lose Heigl’s brother 20 years ago in a car wreck.

“This is so awful, I’m sorry,” Heigl apologized, choking up as she recounted the story and talked about “the overwhelming need to keep her [Naleigh] safe.”

It’s nice to know that she is not completely made of stone. I still think she dresses like an old lady…but whatever.

Oh why am I such a sucker for the romantic comedy? I know they are lame and I always figure out the plot 15 minutes in to the movie..but still..my XX chromosomes betray me every time.

Case in point. I really don’t care for Katherine Heigl at all..and Ashton Kutcher gets on my last nerves..but this movie looks super cute and I want to see it. Hi…I’m a dumb girl..nice to meet you. I’ll go hang my head in shame now.

Ashton Kutcher plays a Spencer Aimes, a hitman pretending to be normal guy who is trying to pursue Jen, played by Heigl. His cover is eventually blown, and rather than dump him, she joins him in on his little secret life.

I’m so over Katherine Heigl. I really wanted to like her when she first busted out on Grey’s Anatomy but she’s been such a twit over the years that I really could care less about her anymore.  I won’t bore you with details about how she has annoyed me in the past..I’ll just report that it looks like she has finally pissed off the powers that be at Grey’s and they are cutting the cord.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes has reportedly agreed to release the star from her contract. Heigl was scheduled to come back to the show on March 1 following a personal hiatus to shoot a film and spend time with her adopted daughter. But Heigl has not yet returned to work to make the final five episodes of the season, and sources say the two sides have mutually decided to terminate the relationship now.

Oh well..she’s got that stellar movie career to fall back on. Ha!

Adopted from South Korea, Naleigh was named after Katherine’s mother, Nancy, and her sister, Margaret Leigh, who was also adopted from Korea. According to reports, Katherine and Josh have been preparing for a baby since late last year.

“Katie and Josh were aware it could take years, so they were being patient. They are thrilled to have a child in their lives, no matter what the challenges.”

Speaking to Ellen Degeneres, Katherine said, “About a year ago is when we said, ‘OK, let’s start the process,’ and the process is intense.”

She revealed: “It’s been a big part of my life and my family. My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do. I just wanted to make sure that I was marrying a guy who understands that this was going to have to happen. Not everybody is down with that.”
