Kate Winslet Harpers Bazaar August 2009Posted on: July 9, 2009
Kate Winslet says she’s happy to keep showing the bubbies for now because she’s taken good care of herself. But don’t expect her to be doing nude scenes forever. “I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with [nudity],” says Winslet. “There was so much of it in The Reader because the story required it, but people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.” Harper’s also says Winslet’s legs may also face a similar expiration date – despite the good care that the star says she has always taken when it comes to herself. “When everyone was out getting plastered, I didn’t do all of that. I was working. I was doing life,” says Winslet. “Now that I look back, I feel very lucky. I’ve never taken drugs, never been offered cocaine.”

Behind The Scenes: Kate Winslet Skyscraper Photo ShootPosted on: May 4, 2009
My loyal readers know that I’m slightly obsessed with behind the scene pictures of everything. Movies, photo shoots, crazy pictures of papparazzi swarms…all that. I love seeing the gritty reality behind all the Hollywood pretty. That said, these might be my favorite BTS pictures to date. Kate Winslet balanced precariously on a steel girder way up high for a photoshoot in a gorg Lanvin dress…pre-touch-ups. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished shots. I love the play on the classic Lunch Atop A Skyscraper photo from the 1932.

Kate Winslet Was Bullied For Being FatPosted on: April 29, 2009
Kate Winslet is this generations champion for female body image. Every time she opens her mouth she makes us all feel better about ourselves. Kate is an acknowledged beauty now but she says she still feels like the fat girl who was called “Blubber” and locked in the art closet. Damn..you forget how mean kids are when you grow up. ‘I was bullied for being chubby. Where are they now!’ she tells this month’s Marie Claire.‘I had, “No one will ever fancy me!”… well into my teens. Even now I do not consider myself to be some kind of great, sexy beauty. Absolutely not.’ “I do think it’s important for young women to know that magazine covers are retouched. People don’t really look like that. In films I might look glamorous, but I’ve been in hair and make-up for two hours; someone’s been lighting a scene for three hours. With the nudity in The Reader, for example, even I was like, “Damn, I look good.” And that was the lighting – it was a bit of body make-up. I don’t believe in pretending those things don’t go on.’

Kate Winslet “Feels Fat & Unhappy” Next To Skinny StarsPosted on: January 26, 2009
Kate Winslet is young, gorgeous and wildly successful – just this week racking up her sixth Oscar nomination. And yet she still battles with those old “chubby kid” feelings from her childhood. She said: ‘As a young girl, I never felt attractive. I was fat and unhappy at times and that kind of thinking stays with you your entire life. There’s always going to be a part of me that worries about not looking as slim as other actresses.’ I used to think that Kate’s self-deprecation was endearing, but now I’m like…just get over it all ready. You are the hottest thing going right now…own it! Be strong for all the normal sized girls out there. Share This:
Kate Winslet Says Pilates Keeps Her ThinPosted on: January 2, 2009
Kate Winslet has always compared herself to the ‘normal women’ of the world and shunned the Hollywood body ideal. Yet somehow she always manages to look unbelievably slim and trim in every photo shoot I’ve ever seen. (Thank you photo shop) But Kate says she’s been the same size for years and it’s all because of the magical practice of Pilates. “I’ve actually been this way since I had Joe,’ she said. ‘I still don’t believe in this craziness for being skinny, but I eat sensibly and I don’t stuff down chocolate biscuits. I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home.’” Sorry Kate, but I’m calling BS on this one. Even though you are not the most fit and cut chick in the business…there is still NO WAY that 20 minutes of pilates every day is keeping your mid-30′s body in shape. Unless you are just eating like one egg white a day. Share This:
