While Kate and her kids were staying at bagillionaire’s Richard Branson’s home in the Caribbean a fire broke out that destroyed the huge property. But Kate saved the freakin’ day by not only getting her children out safely but rescuing Branson’s elderly momma.

Winslet and her two children were among the VIP guests at the ravaged the wood and stone mansion and ran into the night air in just their pyjamas. According to Sir Richard, courageous Miss Winslet acted like a true Hollywood heroine as she swept his 90-year-old mother Eve into her arms and helped carry her to safety as the mansion crumbled around them.

Kate Winslet has moved the freak on and look at this manly man she is hooking up now. British model Louis Dowler is certainly  a nice rebound guy.

“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” their lawyers say in a statement. “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”

Winslet, 34, and Mendes, 44, were married in 2003. They have a son, Joe, 6. Winslet also has a daughter, Mia, 9, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton.

So this makes Kate second divorce. Hmmmm. Maybe she is the one that’s  hard to be married to.

But then I looked at the pictures a bit closer and nearly died. What has our ‘real woman’ Kate done to her face? Has the champion of being yourself and not going to  thphysical extremes finally given in to Hollywood pressure?

My guess it’s something simple and non-invasive like a wee bit of Botox. But her lips do look fuller? What do you think?

“I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with [nudity],” says Winslet. “There was so much of it in The Reader because the story required it, but people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”

Harper’s also says Winslet’s legs may also face a similar expiration date – despite the good care that the star says she has always taken when it comes to herself.

“When everyone was out getting plastered, I didn’t do all of that. I was working. I was doing life,” says Winslet. “Now that I look back, I feel very lucky. I’ve never taken drugs, never been offered cocaine.”

That said, these might be my favorite BTS pictures to date. Kate Winslet balanced precariously on a steel girder way up high for a photoshoot in a gorg Lanvin dress…pre-touch-ups. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished shots. I love the play on the classic Lunch Atop A Skyscraper photo from the 1932.

‘I was bullied for being chubby. Where are they now!’ she tells this month’s Marie Claire.‘I had, “No one will ever fancy me!”… well into my teens. Even now I do not consider myself to be some kind of great, sexy beauty. Absolutely not.’

“I do think it’s important for young women to know that magazine covers are retouched. People don’t really look like that. In films I might look glamorous, but I’ve been in hair and make-up for two hours; someone’s been lighting a scene for three hours. With the nudity in The Reader, for example, even I was like, “Damn, I look good.” And that was the lighting – it was a bit of body make-up. I don’t believe in pretending those things don’t go on.’

She said: ‘As a young girl, I never felt attractive. I was fat and unhappy at times and that kind of thinking stays with you your entire life. There’s always going to be a part of me that worries about not looking as slim as other actresses.’

I used to think that Kate’s self-deprecation was endearing, but now I’m like…just get over it all ready. You are the hottest thing going right now…own it! Be strong for all the normal sized girls out there.

But Kate says she’s been the same size for years and it’s all because of the magical practice of Pilates.

“I’ve actually been this way since I had Joe,’ she said. ‘I still don’t believe in this craziness for being skinny, but I eat sensibly and I don’t stuff down chocolate biscuits. I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home.’”

Sorry Kate, but I’m calling BS on this one. Even though you are not the most fit and cut chick in the business…there is still NO WAY that 20 minutes of pilates every day is keeping your mid-30′s body in shape. Unless you are just eating like one egg white a day.
