Tony Romo was out celebrating his freedom bachelor-style over the weekend in Chicago. Tony hooked up with some old college buddies from Eastern Illinois and these guys claim that they were celebrating the fact that their old pal pulled an old ‘wham, bam thank you ma’am’ on Jessica Simpson.

“They’re broken up,” according to a pal of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. “He told us they broke up and that was that. We’re guys so we didn’t talk about it much.”

“He was surrounded by girls,” according to an eyewitness. “We had to restrain some who forcibly tried to make their way to his table. He zeroed in on one blonde all night,” a source said. “That blonde wasn’t Jessica Simpson.”

At one point, the boys went old school pimp and had the nightclub they were drinking at send a bus to pick up some more girls from the Hard Rock Hotel.

Jessica Simpson made Tony Romo’s birthday extra special by serenading him and licking cake icing off his face. The couple celebrated Tony’s 28^th birthday a few days early at the hot spot, Suite.

The get-together included a blue, star-shaped, No. 9 birthday cake – a nod to the Dallas Cowboys star’s jersey number – champagne, and lots of dancing at the crowded club. At one point in the evening, Simpson got on the mic and sang “Happy Birthday” to her beau – then they started feeding each other cake.

“She licked cake from his face as everyone cheered them on. It was quite a spectacle,” says one club insider. “But they looked really happy together. Jessica had blue icing all over her hands and mouth and Tony was laughing.”

Some of you might think getting a good face-licking from Jessica Simpson might be hot, but to be honest, we think this whole ordeal is kinda gross.

Since Jessica Simpson’s movie career bombed miserably and her country music career  is destined to do the same, we think she should consider a career as a men’s magazine model .

Well, maybe not quite yet. She does have that whole Ken Paves/hair extension thing going on the side.

Jessica Simpson  had to take a break from working on her new country album for a quick trip to the hospital last Friday. Jessica is fine and has already been sent home from Cedars -Sinai Medical after being treated for a kidney infection. Note to Jess: You might want to trade those non-nutritous flavored sugar waters you always drink for some cranberry juice.

“She was hospitalized for a kidney infection, but she has been released and is doing fine. She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever,” a friend of the family says. “She is so happy she is out and feeling great.”

Jessica Simpson usually travels in style with a large entourage including her ever-present BFF/hairstylist Ken Paves. But her people deny reports that the singer traveled to Kuwait in full-on diva style.

Reports claim Simpson, 27, flew to Kuwait – where she’s performing for troops as part of Operation MySpace – via a private jet with hairstylist-to-the-stars Ken Paves and a large entourage, and had no intentions of spending the night in the army barracks.

Not so, says Simpson rep Cindi Berger. “She flew commercially, she is staying in the barracks,” Berger tells PEOPLE. “She’s been with the troops all day. She’s had her meals with them. She’s not with Ken Paves. She has significantly scaled back her entourage. This was done purely to support the troops and entertain them.”

Jessica Simpson stands by her man even after he slammed her singing voice. Tony Romo does not think Jessica is going to be able to cross-over to country music because she is not as talented as his ex-Carrie Underwood.

Tony said he thought Jess would have trouble winning over audiences with her upcoming country CD. Tony believes she’s not quite up to par with ex-girlfriend Carrie Underwood — and told her to her face!

“He really hurt Jess’ feelings,” the pal tells OK!. “She tried to laugh it off in Hawaii [where Tony played in the Pro Bowl], but she pouted whenever she heard Carrie’s songs playing.”

Jessica Simpson gave our boys in uniform some great news today on her website. The singer is planning on testing out her new country album on the troops on a concert in Kuwait on March 10th.

“Hey ya’ll. I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I am hard at work on my country record, and I can’t wait to share it will all of you. I am heading to Kuwait to do a show for the troops, then back in the studio. I love you all and am so blessed by the support and love you show me everyday!! xoxo jess”

Lest you think Jessica is only using our armed forces as a sounding board for her new sound, remember she’s visited the troops before. Back in 2005 she visited Ramstein Air Base in Germany with her ex-husband, Nick Lachey.

Joe Simpson is being sued by the fitness video company for blocking the release of a work-out DVD filmed by his daughter in 2005. Jessica Simpson signed a multi-million dollar contract with and starred in a Speedfit video production just before landing the role as Daisy Duke in the film version of The Dukes of Hazzard.

Papa Joe had Jess film the DVD during a lull in her career, but since ‘Dukes’ skyrocketed (insert your own eye-roll here) her to fame he decided the release of the DVD would be a step back for her. The owner of Speedfit says that blocking the release of the work-out is hurting the public (and his pockets).

“They are hurting millions of fat people in America! I believe that very strongly — they held the video for years!”
