Earlier this week he threatened to ‘forcefully sodomize’ a New York Magazine editor and gave just about the crabbiest, mean and ugly interview ever.

And while we all know the sodomy thing was just a figure of speech….it always makes you proud when the guy you are sleeping makes himself look like an ass.

All the big tabs are reporting today that Jen and John have remained close even after the public break-ups and now working on giving it another shot.

The duo recently spent a night together late last month at New York City’s Bowery Hotel. “Jen was there on the arm of John and they were all very lovey,” says an onlooker. “She was in casual clothing as was he, and she seemed very comfortable around his crowd of friends.”

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler were seen “hand in hand” this weekend at The Jane Hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, a source tells PEOPLE. The two are currently filming The Bounty in New York City.

“Jen and Gerry went out on Saturday night,” says the source, who, noting that the cozy couple were surrounded by such others as Kirsten Dunst also said Aniston and Butler “had cocktails and � They were hand in hand.”

“I have a strange parallel with movies I was doing and my life off screen. First, it was The Good Girl…which evolved into Rumor Has It, followed by Derailed,” she said, perhaps making a quip about her marriage with Brad Pitt, who left her for Angelina Jolie.

“Then there was The Breakup,” she continued. “Followed by the lighter side, Friends With Money. If anyone has a movie called Everlasting Love With an Adult Stable Man, that would be great!” Aniston joked. “I’m at table six, and my agents are at table 12.”

“She frantically yelled out, ‘I need a break!’ She said she felt dizzy and light-headed. She’s usually so calm,” says an on-set informant. “She rushed to her trailer to rest and collect herself, but she lost her balance and nearly keeled over. The collapse really shook Jen up. It was a wake-up call that she needs to slow down.”

Of course this source also claims that Jennifer is plagued with sleepless nights because of her stress of being alone at 40.

According to friends, the good-lookin’ pair have been “hooking up” for about a month. Jen and Brad 2.0 first made flirty headlines when Bradley was caught trying to get into J’s Management party incognito in some douchey disguise.

Partygoers reported that Jen and Brad (it’s so nice to write that again!)  “flirted up a storm,” while Jen “kept touching [Bradley's] chest and whispering in his ear.”

Of course there’s no confirmation from either side but this rumor has popped up several times lately..and that usually means something is going on.

“She was initially taken aback — especially as he sounded drunk and sorry for himself. He told her he misses her and that he’s sorry for any hurt caused. Jen being Jen immediately told him she’d never held a grudge against him and would welcome them being friends again, so long as she doesn’t have to be friends with Angelina. He agreed.Before the call, Brad hardly ever spoke to Jen and the relationship was strained. But this phone conversation broke the ice and opened the lines of communication once more.”

After having a very private fling at the Toronto film festival last year, Jen has started to put major pressure on her people to get a project that would have her starring with Gerard pushed through quickly.

Jennifer is due to direct and star in Goree Girls, a movie about an all-girl country and western band who become a hit while in jail.
And she has asked Butler to star alongside her. She is also keen to book 39-year-old Butler on another as yet untitled movie later this year.

Her publicity machine cranked out every story it could to say she was the one who had done the breaking up with her singer boyfriend. Well, this may be true, but then why would the singer have to change his phone number and e-mail address after she wouldn’t stop trying to contact him? When she couldn’t reach the singer why would she start calling all of his friends to beg them for his number? What she is telling his friends is that she can’t move on without some kind of closure.

It’s odd…I mean that’s not just hiding your face because you don’t have make-up on or your gorgeous blonde hair is not clean and shiny.

Jennifer knows how important her signature blond locks are to her image and takes no chances that she will ever be photographed without looking perfectly coiffed.

The laid-back-looking locks cost an estimated $50,000 to achieve. She apparently believes her hair is worth the price tag, insisting on flying hairdresser Chris McMillian to Europe for a week while she toured “Marley & Me” premieres. The steep sum includes the cost of jetting McMillan back and forth be tween Paris and London, his first- class-hotel stays and his sky-high styling fees, which allegedly cost more than $2,000 a tress session.
