Which just don’t happen when you are a working/touring rock star. That lifestyle always takes it toll. Unless you are totally skipping the after-parties, turning in early and hitting the hotel gym first thing in the morning. Which is what Jared must be doing. Believe me…nearly 40 year old men don’t look this without seriously trying.

Let me explain.

He never freakin’ ages!

He looks just as good or better now at 39 years old as he did in the My So Call Life heydays. Sure, on occasion he does crazy crap with his hair and looks a bit off…but in general he still has a sexy rock star body…a wicked rock and roll attitude and style and pulls it all off without looking douchey.

Here are some yummy pictures of Jared and his brother riding bikes (looking sexy, natch) through Manhattan yesterday. I am totally digging this new shorter hair.

After getting blocked by security, the hunky former My So-Called Life star pulled the ‘don’t you know who I am?” card. Um, for the record – no, security didn’t. The bodyguard in question looked Jared straight in the eye and said, “Actually, no.”

But – like us – the baby blue-eyed crooner would do whatever it would take to hang out with the cool kids — Kristen, Dakota Fanning, Riley Keough and Joan Jett – and ducked under the bodyguard’s burly arm and leaving his friends outside before finally gaining clearance.

Unfortunately, it takes more than a hunky musician to infiltrate the K-Stew circle; Kristen continued to hang out with only her girls.

Good for her. Ya’ll may not remember this, but at least year’s festival..dude had his tongue all down Paris Hilton’s throat. You don’t want to follow that….EVER.
