Gwen celebrated  the big 4-0 on Saturday with an afternoon birthday bash at the exclusive Italian restaurant Cecconi’s in West Hollywood.joined by her hubby Gavin Rossdale, their two children – Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 13 months – and an intimate group of friends, including Kate Beckinsale and her husband Len Wiseman.

“Gwen looked amazing and so much younger than 40. She was in a great mood and seemed very excited to celebrate her birthday with her husband, children and friends,” says the source. “Gwen and Kate seem very close and the girls shared a long chat and many laughs. Gavin and a nanny took care of the boys so Gwen could just relax and enjoy her celebration.”

It would seem that my pleas to the universe that Gwen retire the blood red lips have finally paid off. She looks so much younger with a paler lip.

In one photo of the two together, seen by one of my spies, Gavin and Gidget were in a tight embrace and sharing a kiss. It was also overheard by my spy that Gwen and Rossdale are caput and are planning to announce their separation after they are done touring.

It didn’t phase me to hear that Brad and Angie might just really be having problems, but Gavin and Gwen? My heart can’t take that.

No Doubt will be the first chart-topping band to perform on the CW show for its second-to-last episode on May 11. What song will they play for everyone’s favorite Upper East Side teen queens of mean? “Stand and Deliver,” originally by Adam and the Ants.

Song choice is cool…tv show to appear on Gwen and boys…not so much.

I read this a few weeks ago on some fashion magazine’s What’s Hot For Spring 2009 list and then I noticed I’ve seen super stylish Gwen Stefani wearing an off-shoulder shirt at least twice in the past two weeks.

This was a PSA to all my fashionistas out there.

We wanted to share with you the first photo of Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Gwen, Gavin, Kingston and Zuma are all doing well and enjoying being a party of four.

Zuma was born on August 21, 2008 and weighed in at 8.5lbs.

If you are curious as to how the uber-cool Gwen ended up designing hotel uniforms, it happened, as so many wonderful things do, at New York Fashion Week. The Stefani/W Hotel partnership grew out of the luxury hotelier’s sponsorship of a Fashion Week lounge where celebs can escape from the hoi polloi and the flashbulbs.

“Gwen Stefani was in our lounge last season, and through that relationship she’s doing uniforms for the [Rande] Gerber bars located in W Hotels,” said Jenni Benzaquen, director of public relations for W Hotels, who declined to discuss terms of the deal.”

Don’t worry L.A.M.B. lovers, this venture won’t hurt Gwen’s street cred. Michael Kors has already designed mix and match separates for other W employees. If you gotta wear uniforms to work, it’s better that they are designed by MK or Gwen than Uniform-World or Scrubs R Us.

Son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born Thursday at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, joining 2-year-old brother Kingston in the musically inclined couple’s burgeoning brood. The family’s newest addition arrived at 12:46 p.m., weighing 8.5 pounds.

“Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy,” a rep for the couple said in a statement.

Zuma Nesta, huh? Kingston is going to think his name is boring now.

Along with the all the normal two-year old birthday fun, the guests enjoyed a rented inflatable jump room, as well as some small farm animals at the petting zoo. Way to go Gwen and Gav for keeping it real. It’s refeshing to see a celebrity kid party that looks like the soiree’s parents in our ‘hood throw and not some Tom Cruise/Scientology freakshow.

BTW: The only “cool kids” that seem to be missing are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s brood…but as we all know they are in France awaiting the arrival of the Brangelina Twins.

Gwen Stefani is three months pregnant with her second child. The former No Doubt singer – who already has a 20-month-old son with husband Gavin Rossdale – was thrilled when the pregnancy was confirmed at Los Angeles Cedars Sinai hospital. A source said: “They found out at the hospital and couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone. They’re absolutely ecstatic, it’s something they both really want.”

That being said, look at this picture and tell us when have you ever seen the fabulous Mrs. Rossdale dressed so down? And this is the second time Gwen has lasped into the world of comfort over fashion recently.

This look is so out of character for Gwen it gives credit to the ‘baby number 2′ rumor circulating around the Stefani-Rossdales right now. Or, maybe she is just plain exhausted from being so fabulous and she just needs a freakin’ break from the stilettos and make-up. Pregnant or not, a dressed down Gwen looks younger and fresher than we’ve seen her in years.
