Christina Applegate had her last nude photo shoot the night before she had her double mastectomy in an attempt to rid her body of cancer. She told Oprah Tuesday that she decided to have the photos taken so she would always remember what the breasts she was losing looked liked.

Christina went on to explain that the doctors implanted “expanders” in her chest that will eventually allow a plastic surgeon to sculpt fake breasts for her. But in the meantime she said she is left crying everyday as she looks at her scarred and cut up chest that looks nothing like what she had before.

“You’ve got scarring and there’s a lot of things you’re missing…and the shape is not the same and it doesn’t feel the same and it’s hard to carry your purse and there are so many limitations. It’s sad. I cry at least once a day about it because it’s hard to overlook it when you’re standing there in the mirror.” But, despite the pain and heartache, Applegate joked there is a bright side to her surgery: “I don’t have to wear a bra… ever again.”

BIG props to Christina for talking about her experience and keeping a brave face for other women going through it now. It can’t be too much longer until they find a cure for this heinous disease or better yet, they figure out what we are eating/drinking/breathing/bathing in that is giving it to us.

Just a month after being diagnosed with breast cancer, actress Christina Applegate is perfectly healthy and cancer-free, she told Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America” in an exclusive interview that will air Tuesday. “I’m clear,” the star of “Samantha Who?” said. “Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. … They got everything out so I’m definitely not going to die from breast cancer.”

Oddly just a few weeks after announcing that she would participate in the September 8 Stand Up To Cancer telethon, Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with the deadly disease.

“Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening.”

The rep added: “Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time.”

The Stand Up to Cancer telethon will simultaneously broadcast on CBS, NBC, and ABC on September 8 and will feature major A-listers Merly Streep, Sally Field, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron.

Christina Applegate’s boyfriend was found dead in his apartment today of a suspected herion overdose.  Christina met Lee when she was doing the Broadway show “Sweet Charity”. Lee had a long history of drug problems, and Christina had broken up with several times because of it. Reports say that she was deeply in love with Lee but couldn’t stand by and watch him die.

Lee Grivas, the 26-year-old boyfriend of Christina Applegate, was found dead in his apartment. His body was discovered on July 1 by a neighbor who found him in the living room of his Hollywood apartment. Grivas was pronounced dead at 5:25 PM. Although the autopsy has not been completed, we’re told there were no visible signs of trauma.
