Star magazine reports that Ashlee Simpson is turning her firing from Melrose Place into lemonade.

In addition to revising her role as Roxy in Chicago…she is ready to launch her own clothing line just like Jessica. A source said, “Ashlee wants to start a clothing line. She wants it to be both preppy and punk rock. She thinks she can really succeed in fashion.”

Nice. They can sell it right next to Avril Lavigne’s crappy Abbey Rose collection at Kohls.

Ashlee Simpson is taking no time off after getting the ax from Melrose Place.

She’ll be revising her role as Roxy in Chicago, but this time she’ll be doing it on Broadway.

According to reports, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, 25, isn’t taking a break after getting axed from the prime-time soap. Instead, she’s set to play Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago, starting in December for six weeks, Gossip Cop reports.

It’s not an unfamiliar role. Simpson-Wentz played the role in the London run of the musical. It would, however, be her Broadway debut.

According to Fox411 Ashlee Simpson was not fired so Heather Locklear could have a job…just as I thought..she was fired because she sucks. AND so Heather could come back.

Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members,” the insider spills. “It created a lot of discord among the cast.” Another big problem, says the snitch? “She could barely act.”

The source says producers desperately wanted Heather Locklear to reprise her role, but couldn’t afford her salary demands without cutting someone.
“They basically trimmed the fat and made it possible for Heather to join the show,” says the snitch. “Heather is a much bigger name than Ashlee.”

It’s funny thought that they really think the 18-24 year old chick demo would rather see old ass Heather than Ashlee.

Ashlee Simpson did all that crazy crash dieting to get skinny for work all for nothing. She and her co-star Colin Egglesfield have been cut from the CW drama Melrose Place.

The decision to cut the two actors has been “the original plan going into the development of the show,� executive producer Todd Slavkin tells EW. “We felt that once the murder mystery [involving their characters] was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift … and [Simpson-Wentz's] character would move on.�

In a statement released after the announcement, Simpson-Wentz said, “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity.�

I’m interested to see what Papa Joe has her doing next. Prepare yourself for a new faux-rocker, mediocre album from the youngest Simpson sister.

I have a theory about the ying and yang of the Simpson sisters. When one is up, the other is down. When Ashlee Simpson was a gangly, grungy, big-nosed, faux punker her sister Jessica was a blonde bombshell on the verge of a big-time movie career. Then Ashlee got her nose fixed and Jess got fat. Ashlee got married and Jess got dumped. Ashlee got a big break on Melrose Place and Jessica’s dog got eaten by coyotes

And not that Jessica is really unhappy and turning to food for comfort, Ashlee is about to give up eating for good. Since landing the role on Melrose Place and watching her sister get roasted in the tabloids about her weight, the youngest Simpson is purposely going to extremes to be the polar opposite.

“She doesn’t seem to eat much anymore and went from a size 8 when she was pregnant to not even filling out a size 0 now. She’s barely above 100 pounds,” one friend revealed.The actress stands 5-foot 6 inches.

“She substitutes Red Bull for some meals, and snacks on nuts and other small things instead of having a decent lunch or dinner.”"It was almost as if she was obsessed with looking as good as possible for all the show posters and advertisements,” said the friend.

Ashlee Simpson celebrated her 25th birthday with her husband Pete Wentz and her strategically covered sister, Jessica at the Wet Republic pool party in Las Vegas this weekend.

Is it really bitchy of me to say I’m glad to see someone as thin as Ashlee has cellulite? Yes. But it still makes me happy.

Do Ashlee and Pete Wentz really need a celebrity blogger interfering in their already strained love life? No, but they do anyway. The annoying one posted a story about Ashlee being drunk and throwing a hissy fit at a party at Pete’s bar…and she was NOT amused.

The battle is on. Ashlee Simpson has lashed out at celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton via Twitter. PerezHilton.com ran a story about the singer and her husband, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, claiming that Ashlee’s drunken partying caused a loud spat between the two at an anniversary celebration for Wentz’s bar, Angels & Kings.

Perez reports that Wentz was enjoying his party when Simpson “came up completely wasted and yells at him to leave. They fought, she told him he was horrible in front of a whole group of people and made him leave his own party early. So they make a scene and leave the bar.”

Now Simpson has used her Twitter account to scold Perez for his damaging gossip.

“When all you do is make up untrue stories- look in the mirror. Do you even feel human?? Karma is a bitch.Your story is WAY off,” the ‘Pieces of Me’ singer responds.

Naturally, Perez responded right away, tweeting directly to Simpson: “There are a lot of good rehab facilities in Malibu!” He added, “I don’t wanna name names and get people fired but several of the people I spoke with work at Angels & Kings. I’m not wrong.” He also wrote a Twitter message to Wentz: “Sorry to hear about what Ashlee put you through last night!” The rocker made no response, but romantic messages to his wife around the same time suggest that Wentz is feeling just fine about Simpson.

I’m not one to badmouth fellow bloggers..but this dude just makes us all look bad. Maybe Will.I.Am. can punch him in the face again to get the universe back in karmic balance.

The pilot episode of The CW’s updated Melrose Place includes a murder, an engagement, prostitution and so much more. Just like the original, the show revolves around a group of 20-somethings who live in the same apartment complex. It seems the only thing that will be missing for the new “Place” is Heather Locklear’s incredibly inappropriate micro-mini skirt business suits.
