The tragic life of Anna Nicole Smith has already been made into a made-for-tv-movie, but since we are all suckers for a trainwreck, a nice British gentleman is going to turn her sad life into an opera. Yes, an opera.

“It is not going to be a horrible, sleazy evening,” Elaine Padmore, Covent Garden’s director of opera told the Guardian. “It is not going to be tawdry; it is going to be witty, clever, thoughtful and sad.

“In broad outline, it will tell the story of her life, the people who influenced her, her progress … Clearly the story is about a woman who met an ancient gentleman in a wheelchair, but it’s not going to be a straight narrative; choices have been made about significant moments, selecting which incidents in her life are to be built up.”

The story is disturbing enough just in print, I cannot imagine the awfulness of watching in operatic form. Can’t we just let this poor woman rest in peace already?

Did you know the inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son is still going on? We didn’t either, but Wednesday we got a new shocking accusation from the South Carolina developer G. Ben Thompson that Anna was involved with. He claims that Howard K. Stern tok photos of Daniel Smith after he died saying they pictures “might be worth some money one day.”

“I was totally shocked he was taking pictures of a dead child laying in that bed,” Thompson, who briefly dated Anna Nicole, told lawyers for Daniel’s grandmother, Virgie Arthur. Thompson’s son also testified today, alleging that Howard got rid of two white pills found in Daniel’s clothes after his collapse. Autopsy reports state that the 20-year-old died of an overdose.

Anna Nicole Smith’s sister Donna Hogan will be having a breast enlargement, dying her hair platinum blonde and asking Hugh Hefner if she can pose for Playboy like Anna did.

Hogan also penned a recent tell all book called “Train Wreck” about her dead sister. Wow, it’s not often that we come across someone so fame hungry and cruel. And that is saying alot in the world of celebrity gossip.

Three months after her sad death, Anna Nicole Smith’s will was finally filed Monday by Howard K. Stern, who is also named the will’s executor. According to the will that was drawn up in 2005 all of Anna’s assets were left to her son Daniel, who of course died last September, and will now go to her daughter Dannielynn. The will lists Anna’s total assets to be worth $710,000.

Also on Monday, Larry Birkhead filed a petition requesting to be named as guardian of Dannielynn’s estate. If this is granted it will mean that Birkhead and Stern will have to work together on any matters pertaining to Anna Nicole’s estate. Let the good times roll.

On a positive note, the two appear to have decided to let by gones be by gones and work together in the pursuit of Anna’s late husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, $1.6 billion estate. All for Dannie of course.

The train wreck continues. Two journals written in the 90’s by Anna Nicole Smith reveal that Anna was obsessed with her weight and eating habits, among other things. She writes about her relationship with CEO of Guess Jeans, her first photo shoot for Guess and her $3000 shopping spree at Neiman Marcus two days later where more of the weight obsession pops up.

“I’m so happy they look great,” she wrote. “I hope it empresses Paul Marsiano. … I’m starving!! I’ve been starving myself.”

In another entry dated August 16, 1992, Smith wrote of husband Howard Marshall: “I’ve been really stressed out lately and depressed and I can’t quit eating. I feel like a pig. Howard has been buying me som jewelry but he call me 15 or 20 times a day it drives me crazy. I love him but he aggravates me somtimes,”

The second diary has lots more ramblings about her relationship with Marshall and how fragile he was..but I won’t bore you with that. The rumor is these diaries are filled with much more interesting info about Anna’s sex life and drug use, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

As if we all didn’t know this was going to be the cause of death, yesterday Seminole Police Department Chief Charlie Tiger announced that Anna died from “an accidental overdose with no other criminal element present.”

At least that’s one chapter of this sad tale closed.
