Remember a few years ago when a Kings of Leon concert was made up of mostly celebrities in the audience? Yeah, that’s what happens now when Chris Martin and co. take the stage.

Beastie Boys MCA – Adam Yauch Dead At 47

Such sad news. Beastie Boy’s MCA aka Adam Yauch lost his battle with cancer today. He was 47.
But here’s what I remember him looking like….on the right…
This really sucks. Here’s how TMZ is summarizing it all up..I’m too sad to write ….
In 2009, MCA announced he was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node (below). He has since undergone surgery and radiation therapy.
MCA co-founded Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, and Ad Rock … and went on to churn out some of the most iconic albums in hip-hop … including License to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head and Ill Communication.
The group has won multiple Grammys and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
The Beastie Boys haven’t performed live since 2009.
MCA recently became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.
The Beastie Boys’ most recent music video was released last year for the song “Make Some Noise” — and it stars a laundry list of A-listers, including Rashida Jones, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Amy Poehler, Steve Buscemi, Kirsten Dunst, Zach Galifianakis, Orlando Bloom, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Jack Black.

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch Has Cancer

I know it’s concerning that Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boy’s has salivary cancer…yes apparently that does exist.
But what I find more troubling than the bands announcement that Yauch is ill is that OH.MY.GOD. the Beasties got OLD! When the hell did that happen? It’s so disturbing to watch the rebellious hero’s of your youth get grey hair and old man cancer.
Beastie Boy Adam Yauch (yawk) has what is described as a “very treatable” cancerous tumor in his salivary gland. An announcement came Monday from the group, which is canceling its tour dates and postponing an album release.
A statement says the tumor was found early. It’s confined to one area and is considered very treatable. He will need surgery and other treatment, but the statement says his vocal cords will not be affected. The 43-year-old Yauch is not only part of the pioneering rap group, but has also emerged as a film producer.
