Kevin Hart 2011 MTV VMA Opening Intro

I sort of liked the fact that MTV went without a show host at last nights Video Music Awards. I think the decision to have Kevin Hart open the show..then just let the presenters do their thing kept the pace of the show much faster and more interesting.

And the little pre-recorded clips of Kevin backstage was funnier than anything he could have done onstage.

Tyler The Creator – Best New Artist MTV VMA’s – “Yonkers”

Katie Holmes said it best last night at the 2011 MTV VMA’s when she said Tyler The Creator makes her want to run in the opposite direction. I felt the exact same way when I watched this video for Yonkers.

Keep the sound turned down…he’s a cusser.

Who Is Kreayshawn? MTV VMA Nominee New Artist “Gucci Gucci”

As I was half watching the MTV VMA’s last night, I noticed this cute little Kat Von D-like chick interviewing people and sitting in the crowd. I thought at first she was a MTV VJ ~ whatever that means these days.

But after researching the MTV website a bit last night I learned this chick was actually a hip hop artist that goes by Kreayshawn and The White Girl Mob.

So she is much much less LA tattoo cool and much more white trash hip hop. She is blowing up on YouTube and MTV.com now…but she is getting hated on by the real hip hop community.

Adam Levine Tweet’s “F*** You VMAs” And Doesn’t Regret It

I’m slowly starting to change my mind about Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. He’s been on my nerves for a minute now with all the shirtless pictures and random tattoos…and I really dislike Moves Like Jagger. But tonight I have new respect for him. And I couldn’t agree more.

The outspoken Maroon 5 frontman and judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” took to Twitter on Saturday to air his disapproval of the network, which he believes has strayed from the original mission.

“the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f*ck you VMA’s,” Levine wrote.

It was a statement he did not regret.

“still waiting to have my ‘jerry macguire mission statement moment of deep regret…’ not happening. phew!” he soon wrote.

MTV tweeted back at Levine, saying, “Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!”
