I’m just as shocked as you are to read this news. Some would argue that Britney Spears is a fantastic stage performer (not me…but some) but I doubt anyone would go so far as to say that she deserves a lead acting role in any sort of film.

But her people have worked some magic and she has reportedly been offered the lead role The Yellow Star of Sophia and Eton, which is set during World War II.

The National Ledger website reports: “If she accepts the role, Britney will reportedly play the main role of Sophia LaMont, who creates a time machine and travels back to World War II where she meets a Jewish man called Eton at a concentration camp.”

Sounds like a perfect meaty role for someone who’s film credits include the super cheesy Crossroads and a few guest starring roles on How I Met Your Mother.
