Britney Spears Family Intervention Not Going Well

By now you’ve all seen the footage of Britney Spears shopping with her mother at 1:30am Monday night. Lynn Spears is in town for a family intervention to get Britney into a treatment program for her mental illness. How is that going?
Sources say, not too well. Britney is now speaking to her parents so thats something. But she is still unresponsive to the idea of checking into some sort of treatment center. In fact, instead of doing something productive, Britney went car shopping Tuesday.
Along with pal Sam Lutfi, the two hit a Beverly Hills Mercedes-Benz dealership at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Looking solemn, the singer clutched a coffee cup and a Kabbalah book. (Later that day, Spears and Lutfi hit a J. Crew at L.A.’s Century City mall.)
Another source reports that when Britney and Sam were in J. Crew, Brit Brit blew a gasket because Sam didn’t have any bubble gum. The clerk in the store said Britney instantly perked up when she found a piece of gum in her bag. Mood swings anyone?
