Andre Agassi Crystal Meth Confession

The sports world is all abuzz about a new book that confirms that Andre Agassi was a crystal meth user in 1997.

In a tweet he since deleted, a Sport Illustrated employee dropped a bomb Tuesday morning.

The book, “Open: An Autobiography” will be excerpted in People and Sports Illustrated this week. It’s out November 9.

Since the tweet heard round the sports world, a publicist for Random House confirmed the news. “Those excerpts contain revelations about Andre’s use of crystal meth when he was a tennis player,” said Paul Bogaards, director of media relations at Knopf, a division of Random House. Agassi used in 1997.

I don’t know why everyone is freaking out. What pro athlete doesn’t use some kind of drug at one point or another. I highly doubt he was using while actually playing ..this was at the height of his fame and he was most likely just getting his tweek on. This little juicy tidbit is going make this otherwise yawn-inducing book slightly more interesting and much more lucrative. Good marketing dudes.
