We are all aware that there is a major double standard in Hollywood that allows male actors like Harrison Ford to remain sexy and very hire-able well into their 60’s and relegates their female peers to behind the camera jobs. We totally understand how that might make one a tiny bit bitter, but come on Carrie Fisher, set a good example and take the high road!

Walmart has finally figured out to get the ‘cool kids’ on their side. In a play to reach the young Abercrombie crowd, Walmart has hooked up with Ocean Pacific (OP) is has no doubt paid serious money to get the hippest names in young Hollywood to promote the their new 2008 summer line.

Pete Wentz, Kristin Cavalleri, Corbin Bleu, Will Valderrama, Rumer Willis, Christina Milian and Josie Maran star in the print, radio and online ad campaign for the new line carried exclusively at Walmart.

The concept of the campaign is “OPen Road” and celebrates Op’s historical open road California lifestyle, which the brand has represented since the original launch in 1972. The campaign will continue to follow the Op cast as they head into fall with a back to school campaign that will debut in August.

The campaign has a classic Op feel with the celebrities hanging out at the beach, at a ghost-town ranch and hitting the “OPen Road” in a vintage VW bus. Bringing back Op’s signature heritage pieces from the 70s, but with a younger, hipper flair, the seven celebrities showcase the collection in a variety of upbeat, light-hearted scenes.

According to Ticketmaster, British trainwreck Amy Winehouse is planning to tour the U.S. this summer. Amy is rumored to be playing several big venue shows including a huge gig at the Hollywood Bowl. So far the only one listed on Ticketmaster is a show at the Greek Theater in San Francisco on August 1, 2008. Get your credit cards ready, this show goes on sale Sunday, May 4th.

Joe Francis just got out of jail in Nevada where is still facing tax evasion charges and now he’s been hit with a $10 million law suit from Ashley Alexandra Dupre. You remember her, the call girl at the center of New York Governor Eliot Spitz’s sex scandal.

She claims that Girls Gone Wild founder Francis exploited her name and image for profit. Ashley claims that GGW approached her while she was on vaca in Florida when she was 17. The standard operating procedure of GGW ensued, they offered her booze then talked her into exposing her breasts. Since then she claims ‘they have used her name, picture, voice and likeness in a number of deceptive ad campaigns.’

Francis said he was “surprised and in fact amazed” by the lawsuit, noting he has not released new video of Dupré “due to corporate policy of not using footage of individuals younger than 18″ and asserting she gave her consent on video, providing identification.

“She’s seeking $10 million for topless photos taken in front of a room full of people, including two newspapers and multiple crews we had in the room,” adds Francis. “These images were taken in public places and contain no sexual contact. We expect to triumph in this matter.”

Vanity Fair fired back at Disney’s allegations that they took advantage of young Miley Cyrus. Disney’s statement made it sound like Annie Leibovitz and the editors at VF gave Miley a lollipop and told her to take her clothes off and not to tell anyone. Terrified of outraged parents response to a photo of Hannah Montana Disney threw VF under the bus hard.

A Disney spokeswoman said that “a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines,”

Vanity Fair’s response was to simply post these behind the scene photos of what really happened. The pictures show a happy, relaxed Miley and as far as we can tell, there is no gun to her head at any time. Good for VF for fighting back. The following statement was also posted on the VF site with the pictures.

Um, was Cyrus—or Disney—at all anxious about this shot? “No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy.”
