Here’s you lunch time Britney Spears update. Britney has been awake since Saturday and her mental state had been quickly deteriorating. Britney’s parents put their carefully thought out plan in place yesterday by having Britney’s psychiatrist declaring her a danger to herself after five days of no sleep.

The police were called to escort Britney back to the hospital for another evaluation, where reports say that she is much more comfortable this time around and is even joking about being back for another go round.

Britney’s parents have currently won the power struggle with Sam Lufti over their daughter’s well-being and the hospital and doctors are working under Lynn and Jamie Spear’s authority. This means that Sam can’t sneak his meal ticket out of the hospital if she tells him too.

The hospital can only keep Britney legally for a 72 hour evaluation, but her parents and doctors hope they can convince her to stay for about 14 days to really get a grip on her condition.

People magazine is reporting that Birtney Spears was voluntarily checked herself in to UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric hold early Thursday morning.

“She went willingly. It was like something in her heart was telling her she should go. She knew something was wrong,” confidant Sam Lutfi tells PEOPLE.

Did you know the inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son is still going on? We didn’t either, but Wednesday we got a new shocking accusation from the South Carolina developer G. Ben Thompson that Anna was involved with. He claims that Howard K. Stern tok photos of Daniel Smith after he died saying they pictures “might be worth some money one day.”

“I was totally shocked he was taking pictures of a dead child laying in that bed,” Thompson, who briefly dated Anna Nicole, told lawyers for Daniel’s grandmother, Virgie Arthur. Thompson’s son also testified today, alleging that Howard got rid of two white pills found in Daniel’s clothes after his collapse. Autopsy reports state that the 20-year-old died of an overdose.

So now that we know Britney Spears definitely suffers from bipolar disorder her behavior makes a little more sense. And new reports show that she has been seeking treatment, but so far it has not helped. TMZ reports that Britney has seen tons of doctors and has been taking medication.

We know that she’s seen a new psychiatrist who has come to her home every day this week and that she’s on medication to treat her bipolar disease. Britney has seen doctors who have been referred by other doctors, plus doctors who have been referred by celebrities Britney knows, and doctors referred by her lawyers, family and friends. We’re told the process has been excruciating for her, partly because her disease is severe.

As for medication, friends say she is the old Britney they know and love when she is on her meds, but she stops taking them when she feels better. TMZ says a professional has told them that her medication “just isn’t working.”

“She’s really trying. Whether it works — we’ll have to see. She has a disease. Sometimes when you see her she’s in the middle of an episode. It’s like mocking someone with Down Syndrome.”
