Amy Winehouse credits her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, for saving her life in August after she took a leathal mix of heroin, ketamine, cocaine and ecstasy. We aren’t sure why Amy credits her hubby as the big hero. Does rushing your overdosing wife to the hospital after going a major drug bender with her make you a savior?
“I really thought I was on the way out. My husband Blake saved my life when he brought me into the hospital. I often don’t know what I do. Then the next day my memory returns, and I’m engulfed in shame. I recently saw a picture of myself when I came out of the hospital, and I didn’t recognize myself anymore. I believe I live through pain – if you suffer for something, it means it’s important.”
Amy also confessed she self-medicates because she suffers from severe bouts of “depression.”
“I feel that a black cloud hangs over me. I have taken pills for depression but they slowed me down. I believe there are lots of people who have these mood changes. I’m just really lucky to have found this outlet – my music.”
