Us Magazine reports that Britney Spears was photographed with a bottle of pills in her handbag today as she made her way to her first co-parenting class with Kevin Federline. Britney apparently has so much trouble staying awake in the daytime hours that she must carry around a bottle of Provigil, a prescription drug used to treat excessive daytime sleepiness and narcolepsy. Dr. Mark Milstein, a New York neurologist told Us:

“Unlike a traditional stimulant with side effects such as hyperactivity and inattentiveness, the primary effect of this medication is only to help keep you from falling asleep. Somebody who is living a celebrity lifestyle, who frequently has to be up very early one day and then very late the next, could develop very disordered sleep patterns. This medication won’t give you a ‘high,’ like a stimulant would.”

Here’s a suggestion Britney. Instead of going out to a club, stay home take an Ambien and then get up and face the day like the rest of us do, with lots and lots of Red Bull.
